The Personal Hardship Assistance Program provides financial assistance to people experiencing hardship due to a disaster. It can provide payments via prepaid card or bank transfer under two categories:
- Emergency Relief Assistance for the immediate needs of families or individuals, such as food, shelter, clothing, medication and accommodation.
- Emergency Re-establishment Assistance to help families or individuals establish a new place of residence.
For information about the Personal Hardship Assistance Program, contact the Department of Fairness, Families and Housing.
