A range of specialist services provide crisis and emergency accommodation in Victoria.
Call 1800 825 955 to speak with a housing and support worker. This number is 24-hours a day, statewide and is toll-free. Your call will be directed to the service closest to you. If you call outside business hours, your call will be directed to the Salvation Army Crisis Services.

Safe Steps provides a response phone line, information and support 24-hours a day on 1800 015 188 (toll free). Safe Steps provides support, emergency accommodation, safety planning and referrals for women and their children who are experiencing family violence.
The Victorian Department of Health and Human Services provides public and community housing support for low-income Victorians. If you are in emergency or crisis housing and you need longer-term accommodation, you can apply for public housing. Public housing is targeted to those most in need. If you are eligible for public housing, you will be put on a waiting list, depending on your circumstances.
Public housing is not available as emergency accommodation.
